Walk For Palestine – Sunday 20th May

11 05 2012

There is a  sponsored walk for Palestine next weekend in Walsall on the 20 May. It is organised by the Walsall Kobar Friendship Association to raise funds to help their work with the people of Kobar in Palestine. The Walsall Kobar Friendship Association organises events to raise awareness of the situation in Palestine, link Walsall schools with schools in Kobar, assist with visits from Palestine and support a Women’s cooperative.

The walk will start from the Arboretum, Grange car park, Broadway North, (opposite Lincoln Road) Walsall. Registration will be from 9.30 and groups will head off as near to 10.30 as possible.

The walks are circular, mainly on public footpaths going through open country side and you will have a choice of a 5 or 10 mile loop which will take in the region of 3 / 5 hours to complete. For some this walk will be a challenge, paths could be wet and muddy so you will need to make sure you have appropriate footwear and clothing. A snack / packed lunch and a drink would also be good.

The entrance fee is £5 for Adults and £2.50 for Children (under 16) / Unwaged. To register please complete an entrance form and return, along with your fee, to Walsall Kobar Friendship Association, 207 Bentley Lane, Walsall WS2 8SP.

See the Walsall Kobar Friendship Association website for full details, a registration form and for a sponsorship form.
